Children’s Aid Foundation Ontario was established in 2003 to raise funds to support innovative and urgently-needed programs and services that are not government-funded.

We would like to acknowledge the land on which Children’s Aid Foundation Ontario operates on the Treaty Lands and Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit. For thousands of years, Indigenous peoples inhabited and cared for this land, and continue to do so today.

In particular we acknowledge the territory of the Anishinabek, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee and Ojibway/Chippewa peoples; the land that is home to the Metis; and most recently, the territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation who are direct descendants of the Mississaugas of the Credit.

With deep respect for those who have cared for these lands since time immemorial, we are committed to tread lightly, protect water as sacred, and affirm our desire for right relations with all Indigenous Peoples. We are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land, and by doing so, give our respect to its first inhabitants.
